Ltd., a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office in Imphal, Manipur, India. For the purposes of this Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned below:

  • “Data Fiduciary” means Singjupost Media Pvt. Ltd., which determines the purpose and means of processing personal data.
  • “Processing” means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, including collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, disclosure, erasure, or destruction.

9.2 Right to Correction and Erasure

You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate or misleading personal data, and the right to request the erasure of personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to any overriding legal retention obligations.

9.3 Right to Withdraw Consent

Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You may withdraw consent by updating your Account Settings, clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in our emails, or contacting our Grievance Officer.

9.4 Right to Grievance Redressal

9.5 Right to Nominate

You have the right to nominate another individual to exercise your rights under the DPDP Act, 2023 in the event of your death or incapacity.

9.6 How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact our Grievance Officer as detailed in Section 13. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and endeavour to respond substantively within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Singju Post is a general-interest news platform. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or process personal data from children below the age of 18 years without verifiable parental or guardian consent, in accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact our Grievance Officer immediately. We will take prompt steps to delete such data from our records.

We do not engage in behavioural monitoring of children or serve targeted advertisements to users known or believed to be minors.

11. Third-Party Websites and Social Media

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, embedded videos, and external advertisements. This Privacy Policy applies solely to singjupost.com. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

12. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Where we transfer personal data outside India, we ensure that such transfers comply with the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and are made only to countries or territories notified as permissible by the Central Government of India, or under appropriate contractual safeguards. We will update this Policy as the DPDP Act’s cross-border transfer framework is operationalised through rules and notifications.

13. Grievance Officer

In accordance with Rule 5(9) of the SPDI Rules, 2011, Rule 3(2)(b) of the Intermediary Rules, 2021, and Section 13 of the DPDP Act, 2023, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address complaints and queries relating to the processing of personal data:

All privacy-related complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt and resolved within 30 days, as required by the DPDP Act, 2023. If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India upon its establishment, or file a complaint before the appropriate consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update or amend this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the nature of our Services. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy.
  • Post a prominent notice on the Website homepage for a period of at least 30 days.
  • Send an email notification to registered users where the change materially affects their rights.

Your continued use of the Website following the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
