TRANSCRIPT:

The Missing Component in Ministry

[DR. MYLES MUNROE:] One of the most important kingdom keys is the principle of management.

Write that down. We’re going to talk about what? The principle of management. Management is probably the most absent component in churches. The average pastor in this city graduated from a seminary or a Bible school, and there was no class on management.

And they told him or her, you are ready to start the ministry. That is why most churches are suffering, broke, or attracting broke people. And that is why most of the people in the churches in the city are financially embarrassed. They quote scripture, but don’t experience those scriptures. They claim God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and they’re still renting.

Don’t get quiet tonight. This is embarrassing to God. They claim that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous. And for the last two thousand years, the wicked still has it. And the reason is because they have avoided the most important principle of kingdom life and its management.

The average pastor can’t even spell the word. Management. If you ask me, what should you study to prepare yourself for the ministry? My answer would be study business management, not theology. Because a kingdom is a government, and a kingdom is administration.

And governments are in the business of management of resources. And the key to good government is the effective management, delegation, and distribution of resources. Religious people, you’re sitting in front of one right now. Don’t look back. Believe that God operates in emotions.

So somehow they believe that if they can just get God to feel sorry for them, they can get anything they want, and that’s why they’re still broke.
