But I have had some serious hair health journeys, and so I do all the things to make sure that it’s as healthy as possible. And we go through our ups and downs. The red light hat. Yes. Every serum you could possibly imagine.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Every year. The rice. What was it? The rice.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Water.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: You’re, “I’ll be cooking,” and I’m, “Kim, you do it,” and then you—
KIM KARDASHIAN: Onions, cloves, everything in a shampoo. But it works. You know, I’ll do the stem cell injections in my scalp, everything to make sure that it’s as healthy as possible.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Yeah, but you just love a beauty treatment. If you could only pick one beauty treatment for the rest of your life. Do you have a favorite?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I mean, Botox, probably, or just a really good facial by Shani. Yeah, I love a—oh, I love a red light situation.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s a tough one. That pod you have to get the longevity pod.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I saw that. I know.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: You really, really do.
The Story Behind Kardashian Kloset
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I do want to talk about Kardashian Kloset a little bit, because I feel like we get a lot of hate for Kardashian Kloset.
KIM KARDASHIAN: We do.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: But I think you should explain the backstory and the foundation of it and why it’s so important. Because of Cece.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. And so our cousin Cece is fashion obsessed. I know you know this, but her dream of life was to go to a fashion show, and when she finished some chemo, you know, she’s been battling cancer for 30 years, and sometimes it gets really, really bad, and so she can’t—it’s in her lymph nodes, so she can’t probably work as regular. And she loves fashion. She would want a job in fashion.
So she would always ask us, “What do you guys do with your stuff when you’re finished wearing it? Can I start a site?” And we’ll start—I don’t know if you remember, but Courtney and I, and maybe you were going to open up a store before Dash called Poor Little Rich Girl, we trademarked was going to be consignment clothes, designer clothes, before the RealReal, before all of those stores. This was before Dash.
So we’ve always had closets and closets full of stuff that we wanted to purge and get rid of. Nice stuff that you wear once and spend a lot of money on it. So Cece put together this site. She now employs a team of people and has an office and they photograph everything and they ship it out. And it’s a site like the RealReal in a small way, of just our things.
But it’s funny because people we know and our friends shop on it all the time and love it and the stuff is great and vintage sites have bought off of it and told me when they buy things, so—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Well, it’s really a beautiful story because Cece, you know, I think that we all are really hard working and I think we know that when you have something to get up and to work for, you feel so much better about yourself. And Cece being in chemo and radiation and all the things. There were days that she couldn’t work as consistently, and other days she really wanted to get out and do something.
And so by her having this job, she said it really gave her a will to fight. It makes her feel good about things. Of course, she gets a commission off of every sale. And so, of course, we can easily give to the RealReal. We can easily sell on a third party site, but we do so on our own because we want to give to Cece and make Cece feel good and that she has something to do every day and it gives her something.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. Purpose.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And so I love that we do that. And people that talk, they just talk, but they don’t understand that there’s so much story and history behind it.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Listen, I used to take my stuff back in the day. I didn’t have the money. So if I wanted to buy new things, I would have to sell things.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: You did eBay?
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah, and I used to sell everything on eBay. And that’s kind of how I feel like, you know, we’re still on budgets. We still have things that we try to be responsible with. And so if I sell some things and make a certain amount, then I can, you know, buy with that. I still budget my life out and love living like that.
Parenting Styles and North’s Story
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Let’s talk about our parenting styles. Yeah. Where do you think you and I are alike? And where do you think we’re different?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I think you’re really strict, and I love that. And you’re very structured. I don’t think you’re strict. Actually, that’s the wrong word. I think you’re just very scheduled and micromanaged.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Thank you.
KIM KARDASHIAN: To the moment.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I agree with that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: So I actually think you’re lenient. I think your kids are a little too young for you to feel what it’s like when one of them wants to be extremely expressive in a different way than you would.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I agree with that. I don’t know what teenagers are like, but don’t you think North—I’m trying to remember at 7 or 8, I felt like she still was very—she knew what she wanted at that age, too.
KIM KARDASHIAN: She knew what she wanted since the moment she was born. She was born getting born to the song “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Courtney and I talk about this all the time. Kanye was DJing, so he put on “Bohemian Rhapsody” for the moment she came out. And isn’t it so her? Courtney and I cry, laughing, thinking of this moment.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Oh, my gosh. I was in the room. I don’t remember that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. And how it’s just so her, you know, that’s such a weird fact.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Random song.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I love that song.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah, me too.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KIM KARDASHIAN: When I listen to it, I just get emotion.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I didn’t remember that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. Courtney remembers every detail. Her memory. I didn’t remember it. And it’s something that I would have written in the book. So I asked Courtney years ago, “Hey, what was the song in all the rooms that I—” I write all the memories and just have random facts. And she’s, “You don’t remember. It was ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.'”
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: She’s nuts. She does remember everything.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. And I was, “Of course it was.”
Being a Mom of Older Kids
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Being a mom of older kids, like teenagers. Do you wish you did something different when they were younger?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I treat my two older kids a little bit. I have stricter rules for my two little kids. And so my two older kids have devices. My two little kids don’t. It’s interesting. Your first kid, your first two kids, they’re growing up with you or figuring it all out together, and then you learn and you realize you want to maybe do things differently.
And luckily I have, you know, Cheyenne Sam that I could try that with and that’s really worked for us. But maybe at this age the other kids had a phone so it’s a little bit unfair but it’s the rules and they don’t know the difference. I’m stricter now, but they don’t know.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: That Saint and North had a phone at that age.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Exactly.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Well, they tell them well, but that they know that’s their word versus no. Totally prove it.
KIM KARDASHIAN: But it’s, it’s. I wouldn’t change anything. I think I have such a great relationship with my kids. They love me, they respect me, they’re great. Every kid has, you know, phases and have these growing moments and learning moments and we’ve gotten through all of that and we’re like, I just love how they just grow and evolve.
North’s Self-Expression and Homeschooling
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Does it bother you, the scrutiny that you get for the way that maybe you allow North to express herself? Do you think that’s fair?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I’m just not a judgmental person like that. So I try not to pay attention to it. But I think that no one knows, unless they’re in my shoes of what I’m dealing with and how we have to manage certain things from the outside world or even close in our life that we have to go through together.
So I think the one misconception that people might have is like, “Oh, she’s trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot.” No, Northie actually has a lot of rules. The one area is I do let her express herself and I do let her do that. I love her for that and she would do it, you know, regardless. She’s been. It’s funny, people are like, “Oh, this blue hair, all of this, all of a sudden” or her fake piercings that she puts up or her, you know, I have pictures of her when we’re in first grade pre-K where she’d come with a fake septum ring and she has her green braids and she has pink braids.
But she’s always loved the colored braids in her hair since she was little. She really is who she is and always has been that girl unapologetically. And so I nurture her. She is homeschooled and a lot of it is me helping her do a lot of the teachings and the things that we do. But we do a lot of realistic courses, things that she’s really into.
Math, we’ll give budgets and we’ll go around and we’ll get stuff and we’ll add it all up and subtract it all. She has a brand building class. You know, it’s an actual course and a curriculum. Fully interactive learning. And so she wanted, she had an idea of making hats and making jewelry and all the things she wanted to make. So we made it a course.
And she has to do the web design and she has to do the budgeting and she has to go to the stores and get materials and sewing and we do full fashion courses and she goes to in the summers to FIT in New York and goes to fashion camp, you know, and loves these more interactive experiences.
And so I nurture her. But it’s a full time job even for me and her teacher. And I think people don’t realize I’m with her and the kids 24/7 and it’s like I’ve now added a teacher to my role because she wants me involved in all the things. And you know, I took the last six months off to be able to really do that and do her courses and get the curriculum from her teachers and be there in the room with her.
And it’s been a lot and it’s been so fun to see her blossom. And even her music course at school she’d do a regular music course and learn certain things. But at home she’ll do an eight hour music studio session where she loves producing, writing and a part of, you know, I’ll add her writing out all of her lyrics as a part of her, you know, spelling tests and we do all of the things at home that she really enjoys and are challenging.
And I think they would be proud to see how smart she really is. And how creative she really is. And I can only dream that my children all find a passion and a purpose as young as she has.
Co-Parenting with Kanye
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Well, I think it’s really inspiring and beautiful the way that you do nurture her passions and that you are so accepting of them. She’s 12, and I know she loves producing, and she’s doing that now, and you encourage that. And I think. I know on Alex Cooper, you talked a little bit about you and Ye’s relationship and where you guys stand now. And I think it’s important to say you and Ye have really bonded over North’s producing. You guys are now in a much better place.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. And I think that, you know, I’m a really empathetic person. I mean, at the end of the day, we’re always family. I always look at it that way. No matter what’s going on, there are times when I have to be super protective, and there are times when, you know, at any moment, I would love that relationship. And I’ve always talked about that.
The music side and the producing isn’t my thing. And that’s her bonding thing with her dad. But even just coming up with stuff, we have to communicate about how North moves through that world and all these opportunities that come her way and having to filter that and respecting his opinion on the things that go on with his kids is really important. So, yeah, I think, you know, he’s.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: So good at doing that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I think it’s important for the kids. You just kind of have to put all the other stuff aside.
Kids Sleeping in the Room
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Do your kids still sleep in your room?
KIM KARDASHIAN: They do.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I know you always want to apologize for that, but.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Lala’s in town, and she loves to sleep in my room. I have this massive bed, and everyone’s like, “Why doesn’t she sleep in the guest room?” And Saint was just at my door, like, “This is not fair,” or, “I’m going to sleep in between you guys,” or “I’m going to sleep on the floor.” Saint is right next to you.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: That’s with Kim. And literally, I remember Kim was like, “I have to go.” He heard me saying, “Oh, I’m going to Paris with your mom.” And he’s like, “How many days? I need to approve this.”
KIM KARDASHIAN: He needs to know my whole schedule. How many days am I going to be gone? He always cries when I leave. Calls me every time we have.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: A Life360 that he hears your voice.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Oh, when I leave, I make my kids this recording device that’s in a Build-A-Bear. I got the heart that, just the recorder. And I leave the messages like, “I love you so much. I’m going to be back soon.” And I leave them, I’ll say a prayer because he likes. We say our prayers together every night.
So one is just a prayer that they can play on repeat if our timing is off or something. They love them. And he plays. He keeps it in his pocket when he is out. And it’s so cute.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: She’s obsessed with you.
KIM KARDASHIAN: It’s so cute.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Mia. Talk about your.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I’m obsessed with them.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Life360.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Oh, yeah. We have a Life360 app. Obviously, the only kids with the device, North and Saint and myself. Saint will be checking it. And he’ll just be like, “Mom, you know, you’re here. When are you going to head home? I see you’re here, Mom. Did you land? I see on the app, you’re just landing or are you on the plane yet?” He makes me text him when I take off when I land. It’s so cute.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s so cute. Let’s talk about the show a little bit. When you look back, do you ever watch old episodes?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I don’t really. No. But I’m not opposed to it. When love. The first 20 seasons are coming back on Hulu.
Looking Back at the Show
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: When you see old clips. I love it. You love it?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I love it.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I was going to say, do you cringe? Are you like.
KIM KARDASHIAN: No, sometimes I’m like, sometimes there’s cringy moments. But other than that, it’s like the best home movies. So well shot. We have so much documented.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s really so much of it.
KIM KARDASHIAN: It’s been 20 years.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Yeah. And so much of it. I forget that we even did. We were all in Idaho and it was just on TV. The old Keeping Up and random stuff was just on TV. And I was like, when did we ever do this? There’s no recollection. I think we just filmed so much. But think about having literally every single day of your life filmed for 15 years.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
AI Dating Rumors and Fake News
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And it’s just there. Don’t even want to know what’s on the editing floor. Who knows? Was there ever a moment that you didn’t want something filmed, but they filmed it and it turned out for the better? I think I know a few.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Really. Like the Bentley fight. I don’t think at the time it’s funny. Like, mom and Courtney want us to pull back a lot. And I’m just like, why? Let it go, Courtney. When I said I got married in Italy, she got married in Italy. When I said that whole thing, she’s like, you look like a lunatic. You have to take this out. We just—you look insane. I go, perfect, put it on. It’s making it.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And I was—
KIM KARDASHIAN: She’s like, no, no, I’m telling you, like sister to sister. You look crazy. And I was like, good. I love it. Like, I can really step back and look like from a producer’s eye.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Oh, like the fight, the slapping site.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Oh, yeah. Mom was like, this can never see the light of day. She was freaking out. And I was like, you’re not in it. So it is making the cut.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Sisters don’t hit each other.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I’m like, they do. Yeah, they do.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Let’s talk about some of the AI dating rumors.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Is this not insane?
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s insane.
KIM KARDASHIAN: No, no, no. Insane. You want to know the most craziest one that people I think thought was real?
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Which one?
KIM KARDASHIAN: There is a basketball player that I think got traded to the Lakers.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Luka.
KIM KARDASHIAN: There was like a fake tweet or comment on Instagram. I don’t know where it came from, but it was like, “Hi, you’re coming to LA. I want to learn from you. Slovakian or whatever language, who knows?” And then there was either—I don’t know if he really thought it was me and then he replied no, or if it was like a fake reply. I don’t know at this point, but mine was so fake.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Okay.
KIM KARDASHIAN: And it looks like I’m hitting on this guy. I haven’t gone to a Laker game since Rob sent—stop.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Because of that. Rob sent me—
KIM KARDASHIAN: Not really because of that, but Victor Wemby.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Rob was like, you’re dating—I think he’s like 19 or 20. Some 19 or 20 year old basketball player. I was like, not that I know of. Oh, God. And there’s photos of him. And I, yeah, AI photo.
KIM KARDASHIAN: AI is insane. There was a photo, an AI photo of me and Kevin Durant.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KIM KARDASHIAN: And was like, “If there is ever a basketball player that I would date, he’s the one.” And it said all this stuff, like a real quote from me with a picture. And I’m like, I—that’s absolutely just not true. And I never said that.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s insane. AI is getting out of control.
KIM KARDASHIAN: There was even this quote that said I would have been a billionaire sooner if Jay Z was my husband or something. Like, I don’t remember. And I was like, who comes up with these fake quotes? How do you stop them? Because once you send, like, a cease and desist, it’s like all these other people have posted it.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: But even like you said, you sometimes second guess, like, the tweets. Like, you’re like, wait, I have to—oh, yeah, where did this hymn, right?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I didn’t think mine was real.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: No, I don’t think that. But then you’re like, what is real versus what’s fake? Like, even the AI photos. Or there was, I think, a video I sent you. It was either of you or of North talking. And I sent it to you, and you were like, that is so AI. Like, they’re so real, some of them. And it’s really f*ed up.
KIM KARDASHIAN: No, it’s insane. I don’t like it.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: The dancing ones we like, though. Yeah, those will send the stupidest dancing videos. And she laughs and tells—
KIM KARDASHIAN: I’m like, I am crying.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: No streaming down your face. And it’s very cute, but we’re like, okay, but last night, you and Kylie were dying over some of those.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Kylie and I were laughing. I’m like, please recreate. Please try. And she’s like, I don’t know if I could even do this move. So funny.
Music Tastes and Country Favorites
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Do you think people would be surprised that you listened to Taylor Swift? I think I’ve said it. I think people would be surprised. Surprised. Yeah.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I mean, it’s just—I have her, like, some of her older songs in my playlist. I’ve always thought she’s, like, a super talented, great artist and—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Do you like country music?
KIM KARDASHIAN: Love country music.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Who’s your favorite Country?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I mean, I’ll always be a Shania Twain girly.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I do love Shania.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I really do. And then, like, I love Carrie Underwood. I love always—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: You did, right?
KIM KARDASHIAN: She just came on my playlist.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Like, wasn’t it Leann Rimes?
KIM KARDASHIAN: Love Leann Rimes. That was my song.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I remember being in the car on—
KIM KARDASHIAN: The way to Arizona, driving to Courtney to college, and I was like, CDs at the time. Yes, CD singles. So I only had the single of Leann Rimes, the CD book that we—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Had to keep popping.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I still have it. I still have this Sweeney book.
Staging Paparazzi Shots
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: You’re really the first celebrity to openly stage paparazzi shots. Talk about how, when, and why you started doing that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Okay. It’s not like we would know where they were. And so—yeah, yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: So when you vote for Kim.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah, Vote for Kim was like the first. That was the taste.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: So Kim did Dancing with the Stars 2006 or seven. Something like that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Something like that.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And season three, I think we would walk down Robertson Boulevard. Definitely not season seven.
KIM KARDASHIAN: No. Of Dancing with the Star.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Oh. I was like, please.
KIM KARDASHIAN: No. We knew, like, we wanted people to vote for me, so we made “Vote for Kim” T-shirts and we walked down Robert Rock so people see us. Like, you knew where they were, right? So you would just go like that and be desperate.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Totally. Being desperate was like a—it was cool to be desperate back then.
KIM KARDASHIAN: It is all I wanted. I lived for it. Like, there was times—I mean, I said this story once where Jonathan and I went—we were at a restaurant, and we heard these people. Jonathan just, like, sees everything, like, online and was like, “Oh, Britney Spears is staying at this hotel in New York.”
So this person at dinner had this, like, crazy phantom Rolls Royce. Jonathan and I could hardly even get a cab, you know? So we’re like, “Oh, can we get a ride to our hotel?” And the guy’s like, “Yeah.” And Jonathan and I are like, “We’ll sit in the back. You sit in the front.” So it looks like we got out with a driver.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Oh, my God.
KIM KARDASHIAN: At this hotel. And we got out. Paparazzi everywhere waiting for Brittany, you know, at her hotel. They weren’t following us at this point, or who knows? Maybe they were. But they come out and they’re like, “Kim, Kim, Kim, are you here to visit Britney? Are you here?” And Jonathan’s like, “Keep your head down.” And just like, “Shut up.”
So we go inside, we go in a phone booth because we’re like, we don’t know anyone at this hotel. We don’t even know if there’s, like, a hotel bar for us to walk in. We go and, like, hang in the photo in the phone booth in this hotel for, like, 20 minutes. And then we’re like, “All right, let’s go out.”
And then we come out, and they’re like, “Kim, how was Brittany? How was Brittany?” And Jonathan and I are like, you know, we just, like, walked in the—took a cab, I think, from that point, because this Rolls Royce person dropped us off, but they weren’t going to take pictures of us, like, getting in. So we totally scammed the system. Scammed the system. And it was, like, on every cover, and we thought we were killing it.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Oh, you guys were.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Back then, there was a time, and one time, Jonathan was like, “You have got to stop smiling. Like, Victoria Beckham never smiles.” So we’d, like, walk out of, like, Intermix on Robertson, and he would be like, “Victoria, Victoria.”
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And I’d be like, “Oh, get it together. Okay.”
KIM KARDASHIAN: And I’d, like, stop smiling. Because I’d be like, “Hi, guys.” You know, to the—to the paps.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And he’d be like, “Victoria.” And I’d be like, “Oh, get it together.”
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
Surprise Guest: Jonathan
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Well, you segued this perfectly. I have a guest that’s coming.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Who?
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Welcome Jonathan.
KIM KARDASHIAN: No way. I’m just kidding. Oh. I was like, no way. I loved—we should have called him.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: We should have. You would have loved to have been here. That was a big mistake on my part.
KIM KARDASHIAN: That was crazy. I—I love Jonathan. We should call him.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: We should call Jon.
KIM KARDASHIAN: I think people think we don’t talk, you know? Hello.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: What are you doing, sexy? You look—
KIM KARDASHIAN: Thank you.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I want you to dinner in Miami. We were just talking about you. It’s a good—
KIM KARDASHIAN: We’re on the pot. We’re doing Chloe’s podcast. How’s Jonathan? And I’m like, I love John. Hold on, I’m calling him. Do you need proof of life?
JONATHAN: I’m in Miami, actually. It’s like 80 degrees out here.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Oh, my God.
JONATHAN: Just chill. I’m at, like, a nice dinner and it’s like a brand new restaurant here in Coral Gables.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Nice.
JONATHAN: How’s the podcast going?
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s good. We just wanted to give you a little shout out. I said you were at my mom’s 70th and—yeah.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Thank you. That was a fun night, wasn’t it?
JONATHAN: That was the fun. That was probably one of the best parties in, like, 15 years. They don’t do parties like that anymore, right? They don’t, no. Yeah, we used to do—you know, when I did PR, we used big events like that, and they were like these kind of parties where, like, one after the next would come in. Should we talk about the party? And it was like, the crazy mix. And now it’s like, everything’s so corporate. Yeah. Sponsors.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
JONATHAN: Nobody could ever pull that off. Unless you’re, like, paying for your own party, which nobody really does anymore. Yeah.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. Well, we’re not doing it again for a long time.
JONATHAN: It was really expensive. Okay.
KIM KARDASHIAN: We love you.
JONATHAN: See you in LA. Call me when you’re back. Bye, guys. Bye. Love you. Bye. Love you. Bye.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Okay, Jonathan and I are good. Here’s the thing. I had kids.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KIM KARDASHIAN: And it’s really hard to maintain friendships when you have kids and you’re, like, in it. And, like, Jonathan’s not going to come and sit around Calabasas all day. He’s, like, always on the move.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Well, especially when someone else doesn’t have kids, so it’s not like you can do play dates with your kids.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Exactly. Yeah, exactly.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I get that. And we love Jonathan. There’s so much history there. Okay, can we talk about how the new year hits? And suddenly I want to clean everything.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Organize everything, and completely reinvent wardrobe.
The Elephant Birkin Drama
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: So I know one story that really bothered you, and rightfully so, was the elephant Birkin drama.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And even Ellen DeGeneres reached out to me.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Text me. Well, you know what? She always has, like, no matter what it is, if there’s, like, an issue, she’s always been. You know, she is the reason why I went to, like, full faux fur. And, like, I have my vintage furs, and I, like, completely toned down a lot of things. And it was her approach and the way that she communicated with me about it.
And so she wrote me and was like, “Hey, I see this story with this elephant Birkin. Like, what is this?” That was a bag that is fake that we bought for extras props. You know, I brought a lot of my bags in to film All’s Farah’s accessories, but then we just got a bunch of other ones that we would have and leave, like, on set that we can, like, leave there and grab if we ever needed one for a specific outfit. And I was wearing gray, and it was a gray one. If you look at it, I actually—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Have pictures of it.
KIM KARDASHIAN: The hardware is upside down, so it’s like an actual, like, full fake one. Even, like, everything about the texture is, like, not whatever. But what I was so annoyed with myself about is just that, like, that message that the elephant Birkin was okay because, like, people didn’t know if it was real or fake. So even just like putting that out there, like, I wish I was a little bit smarter on that and made a better choice on that.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I could see that. And I appreciate that.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And I’m sure Ellen does too.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Did you tell Ellen it was fake?
KIM KARDASHIAN: Of course I was like, the bag is fake, but like, it’s just also like the stories and the headlines and all of that that like, follow it with them not knowing what it is. So, you know, I don’t blame that story or for the outrage of that story. I really don’t.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I just, I get that certain organizations approach to things. It’s so just—
KIM KARDASHIAN: Oh, it’s fully—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s the approach.
KIM KARDASHIAN: That’s why, like, Ellen’s approach was so great. Right. She’s, you know, it just struck me like, how she really took the time to communicate certain things to me.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: All about approach in my book.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
Setting the Record Straight
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Being that it bothered you so badly, why don’t you go out and respond and set the record straight?
KIM KARDASHIAN: I think that came at a time when there was a lot of other All’s Farah criticism and I was like, overwhelmed. I’m a firm believer of like, addressing something head on and quickly. You know, whether it’s like naming kimono and then changing it to Skims and acting quickly and like, “I hear you.”
And like, sometimes I wish I did act more quickly, but like, my thought process also is like, same thing. Why didn’t I shut down all those, like, AI rumors about, you know, the Laker player and, you know, Katie and like all these things, fake tweets and pictures. It’s like sometimes I’m like, oh, I’m not going to give it attention because I can’t just sit there all day and shut everything down, you know, and then—
Well, sometimes I get annoyed enough and I’m like, guys, like, why aren’t we like, sometimes you just have to give a statement if something’s totally—it just—
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: It’s so. I get that. And some are you can shut down a few and then if you don’t shut down one, people be like, “Oh, she didn’t shut that down, so it must be real.”
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: But it’s not.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: And I think you’re right. You can’t shut down every last rumor. And—
The Kardashian Response Strategy
KIM KARDASHIAN: But we do talk about it. You know, we do have a chat about it and it’s like, what are we going to do about this? How are we going to get, you know, around this? And what are we going to, you know, we are cautious of everything that’s going on. We really are.
And sometimes we’re like, we’re not giving it energy, or we’re going to have to give this, this, this, and this energy. Right. And then sometimes you get annoyed, like, why didn’t I give that energy?
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Oh, I think it’s cooler that you don’t.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Yeah. But then sometimes I get pushed to the limit, and I’m like, you better shut that. We all tweet this myself, you know, and there’s just some random things that, like, take me to the edge that I. It could be the most random thing where I’m just like, I have to speak up.
Craziest Rumors and Viral Moments
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: What is the craziest rumor you think you’ve ever heard about yourself?
KIM KARDASHIAN: Hmm. I don’t know. I really don’t. Like, there’s just been so many.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Yeah, I can’t keep up that. It’s like, I know.
KIM KARDASHIAN: There’s so many random ones.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: There’s the video of you and Ye on jet skis.
KIM KARDASHIAN: That is fake.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Well, that’s not us. Duh. We’re going to show the clip, obviously.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Do you not believe people think that’s us? Does it look like us? I don’t think it’s.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: No.
KIM KARDASHIAN: If we had a major jet ski accident, it doesn’t look like you in the slightest.
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: That’s why I’m like, I don’t even understand how some rumors get started or go viral. It’s really strange to me.
KIM KARDASHIAN: It’s so strange. I mean, speaking of AI, I think there was even a fake tweet of Kanye saying that, oh, Kim is in the bathroom having diarrhea or something, and I’m like, what? Do people think this stuff is real?
Spilling the Tea
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: Never. Okay, let’s get to the tea.
KIM KARDASHIAN: What tea?
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN: I want you to spill. There’s a few iconic stories that I think the world needs to hear about.
KIM KARDASHIAN: Oh, my God.
