SRS #278: w/ Ro Khanna – Why is Congress Afraid to Subpoena Every Name in the Epstein Files? (Transcript)

Editor’s Notes: In this gripping episode of the Shawn Ryan Show, Representative Ro Khanna returns to the hot seat to discuss the startling lack of accountability surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files following a major Department of Justice release. Together, Ryan and Khanna dive into the redacted names of high-profile “co-conspirators,” questioning why powerful elites from Silicon Valley to Washington D.C. have yet to face a subpoena or criminal investigation. The conversation also takes a sharp turn into the dark side of modern technology, exposing how platforms like Roblox are being used to desensitize children through disturbing reenactments of tragic events. This is a powerful look at the “two-tier justice system” in America and a call for a new moral beginning for the nation. (Feb 9, 2026)

Opening Remarks

SHAWN RYAN: You ready to do this, Ro?

RO KHANNA: Back in the hot seat, dude.

SHAWN RYAN: I can’t believe you’re back already.

RO KHANNA: I mean, I didn’t think that we’d get this much out this fast. I came on your podcast, and then two weeks later, the Justice Department decides to release 50 of the files. So I figured maybe if I come back, they’ll release the other 50%.

SHAWN RYAN: Hopefully. Wow. I mean, you’re my fourth interview this week. I’ve dug in as much as I can. Thank you for coming. I’m not an expert on this stuff. I’m trying to figure out what’s real, what’s not real, and sift through this and I want to know what do we do next?

So thanks for coming, Ro. I really appreciate it. And the last episode was awesome. I mean, I took a lot of heat for it. You probably did, too. But I think this is what needs to happen.

RO KHANNA: We have to say you’re not a communist just because you have me on. You know, we could talk to each other, even if we don’t agree, and we certainly can agree that pedophiles shouldn’t be protected in America.

SHAWN RYAN: That’s right.

RO KHANNA: I mean, the stuff has been worse than even I anticipated. I don’t know what you thought.

J.D. Vance’s Quote on Epstein

SHAWN RYAN: I couldn’t believe some of the shit that I was seeing in there. And we’re going to go into as much of that as you want and as I want today, but I wanted to open it up with a quote. Let’s see if you know who wrote this.

“Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in jail, and now we just don’t talk about it.”

You know who wrote that?

RO KHANNA: Our vice president, J.D. Vance.

SHAWN RYAN: J.D. Vance wrote that in 9-4-21, back when.

RO KHANNA: He used to be a populist. I knew him back then.

SHAWN RYAN: What happened?

RO KHANNA: I don’t know. Look, I used to, I went to factory towns with J.D. Vance. He used to talk about why our jobs are going offshore, hollowing out of our factories. You know, Tim Ryan, me and J.D. were across small town America, and I thought, okay, I disagree with this guy, but he’s got the same values, like stand up for ordinary Americans.

And he sounded the alarm on the Epstein files. As did Donald Trump. I mean, they made this a huge thing. And I just, I tweeted at him yesterday, sometimes we go back and forth and I said, “J.D., you talk about being a man. You talk about let’s not diminish masculinity in America. To me, being a man means standing up and respecting, standing up for what you believe in, no matter what the consequences are.”

SHAWN RYAN: That’s what being a man is. Being a man is not keeping your fing mouth shut because daddy’s got a thumb on you. That’s what this is. That’s what’s happening. And it’s fing pissing me off. And it’s pissing all of the American people off.

RO KHANNA: And he looks emasculated to Trump. I mean, why can’t he just get out there and say, “Yeah, I’m going to stand up to these powerful men who are involved in the raping of American girls.”

Like anyone who has a sister, anyone who has a daughter, anyone who has a wife should be offended. And being a man, in my view, means standing up for the respect and dignity of women, not being abused and standing up to evil men like that. Like you went and fought wars against the bad guys, right? This is like, are you on the good guy side or the bad guy side?

And I still hope because I want what’s right for survivors. I’m sure someone is going to show this to the Vice President. I hope he remembers what he was like before he got into this position. All he has got to do is put out a statement, release all the files. Let’s hold these people accountable. And went to Epstein’s Island. I don’t know how hard it is.

SHAWN RYAN: Looks like maybe he’s had a change of opinion unfortunately.

The Roblox Problem

But you know, before we get too far into this, I just, it was really cool to introduce, to get you and Schlep to meet each other. We had a great episode with him yesterday about all about what he’s doing with Roblox and to show you all of the stuff that’s not even all of the stuff. Some of the stuff that’s going on there like the Epstein island game or recreating all of the mass shooter events. Sandy Hook, Uvalde. What were some of the other ones, Jeremy? They’re, Columbine’s in there. I was grocery store in New York, 9/11.

RO KHANNA: I had no idea. Look, Schlep’s a courageous guy and I’m glad you had him on.
